The Problems
The Problems
The Problems
• The platform had three separate yet identical evaluation and approval processes, leading to project delays.
• Past Evaluation Reports were scattered across the site and the outdated search engine made it difficult for users to find what they needed.
• The most recent data our team had was from over five years ago from a different project involving this platform.
• The client required a design that could be easily scaled to all their global offices.

User Research
User Research
The only data we had for reference was from 5+ years ago, so I knew we had to start here. My team and I conducted individual user and focus group interviews with select employees from all KPMG global offices.
Utilizing our research, we designed three user journeys for usability testing to determine an optimal solution. Users were most comfortable and receptive to the first two designs pictured below:

Building a UI Kit
Building a UI Kit
KPMG did not have any established design system and this was the first of their internal products to be updated to match the new branding, so we had to create a UI Kit from scratch.
Since our team was on a tight deadline, we had to develop screens while simultaneously creating a UI Kit to meet the client's timeline and needs.
This project inspired me to help build and establish a Design System for KPMG.

Streamlining Workflows
Streamlining Workflows
Each evaluation required the completion of three separate, but identical workflows. With each workflow requiring approval from multiple parties, there were several delays and frustrations.
As a solution, our team decided to streamline the three workflows into one quick and dynamic flow.
Because developers understood how the information is distributed in the back-end, I worked closely with them to design an efficient solution that wouldn't disrupt the flow of information.

Redesigning the Landing Page
Redesigning the Landing Page
The original landing page was difficult to navigate and the system to organize the data was outdated. Users found it difficult to identify what their tasks were, causing them to procrastinate and avoid using the platform.
As a solution, I worked on designing a landing page that prioritized presenting ongoing tasks and actions. Based on our research and usability testing, I designed a Landing Page based off two user journeys that resonated most with our user base while keeping close communication with our developers to ensure our designs were feasible.

The Outcomes
The Outcomes
The Outcomes
Due to internal budget adjustments, the client has temporarily halted this project. Although our design isn’t live (yet!), our work gave great value to the client – we've identified critical usability issues and delivered tested solutions.

We helped the client define and align their business goals with user-centric solutions discovered through user research & testing.
We developed a scalable workflow to optimize the experience, streamlining the evaluation process, making it quicker & simpler for the user.
We redesigned an intuitive Landing Page that targeted user concerns and frustrations.
We rebuilt the architecture of the site, making it easier to navigate, delegate, and complete tasks.
Had the project been completed, we would've sent the high-fidelity screens into development and worked with our developers to make our solutions come to life.
